Mother’s Day Guide

9 May, 2017

“No language can express the power, and beauty, and heroism, and majesty of a mother’s love.”

Mom’s make the world go round. Whether you are taking mom to brunch, dressing up, or getting her a little something special here is our go to edit for this year.

What to wear: A pretty dress or playful silhouette. We like to go with something sweet, flirty and fun; and love these looks from LemLem, Ulla Johnson, Apiece Apart, MDS Stripes, Zimmerman and Tibi.

LemLem $395,  APIECE APART $475

Ulla Johnson Viola Jumpsuit $340

Tibi Silk Ruffle Dress $545

Ulla Johnson Cecily Ruffle Dress $345

Ulla Johnson Maxi Dress $345 , Zimmermann $530

MDS Stripes High Waist Peasant Skirt $495

What to get: A luxurious beauty product Mom might not buy herself.

We love the organic lemon cleanser by Eminence available at Alchemy Face Bar in Boulder. It smells heavenly and is a gentle cleanser good for all skin types. A no brainer especially if you have a lemon lover in your family. $40

The Bal à Versailles pefume, a feminine scent by Jean Desprez. This was Elizabeth Taylor’s favorite and what she wore on set while filming Cleopatra. A beautiful and exotic blend of rosemary, orange blossom, cassia, jasmine, rose, neroli, bergamot, bulgarian rose, sandalwood, patchouli, lilac, orris root, vetiver, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley and leather, civet, vanilla, and cedar. $130

Fleurs: You can never go wrong with flowers and why not take advantage of May’s peony season! Our favorites come from Fiori Flowers in Boulder. We like a single variety arrangement in a simple glass or brass vase. Delicate, fragrant and pretty, you will definitely get a smile and hug from Mom.

Soft Pink by Fiori Flowers

Cards: Something cheeky or sweet like these Colete Paperie cards at J Lounge. $4

reason you drink card

Brunch: A long brunch with the ones you love is perfection. Our favorite spot in Boulder is the St. Julien Hotel & Spa for a decadent, all inclusive brunch with Mom. Think crab legs, endless mimosas, and a dessert bar. A meal no one has to cook, clean up or plan. Bonus you are perfectly positioned downtown for a leisurely post-brunch stroll.  $70 per person (reservations required)
