Summer is a time to be outside and a time to care for your skin so it doesn’t get damaged. A friend recently asked me what I use on my skin so here is my list of summer essentials. I have tried a lot of products and these are the ones that deliver.
First, I use a few great cleansers. One for everyday, an active one to deep clean twice a week, and an exfoliator to help with the surface texture twice a week. I really like these products because they are made with organic ingredients and use a lot of fruit enzymes so it is naturally cleaning and won’t irritate sensitive skin.
Then, a serum or two. I started using serums after learning that to avoid aging and damage I need to feed the deeper layers of my skin with a high quality vitamin C and vitamin A serum. These are both by Osmosis, a Colorado based company, and have DNA repairing results. I mix them together and apply once a day usually at night.
Next I tone and moisturize. The toner brings the pH of my skin back into balance after using soap. The moisturizer feeds my skin what it needs to stay elastic and hydrated. A day moisturizer with spf, then a thicker moisturizer for night and finally an eye cream. The eye cream has rosemary in it so a little goes a long way.
These products work for me having sensitive skin and living in Colorado’s dry climate. If you want to learn about your skin I recommend an in depth hour long facial with Perrin at Orange Poppy Spa. After that a half an hour facial at Alchemy Face Bar every 4-6 weeks is a great way to keep your skin in check.
