Delsey Luggage

22 October, 2015

Flying use to be a glamorous occasion, and I still think it can be. My number one piece of advice is to buy a piece of beautiful and practical luggage, and the second is to style an outfit that is comfortable and classic to wear during travel.

My favorite brand of luggage is Delsey. They make a beautful chalet line with traditional lines and colours that give a feel of old world glamour and travel, while being practical. I traveled for two weeks to Italy and London with the 19″ Delsey Chatelet in cream. With a beige leather tote I fit everything but my tennis shoes in my two bags. 19″ is the standard carry on size for Europe, a touch smaller than American airlines. In addition to being chic, the luggage comes in a black, cream and chocolate colour and was the #1 rated carry on at 2014 travel industry conference. The elegance of this luggage works for both men and women, depending on the colour you choose. My favorite features are the locking wheels, built in combo lock, the chic interior bags to store unmentionables or shoes, and the soft yet durable outer material.

This is a photo of my arrival in Rome after traveling from Colorado for over ten hours. I wanted something comfortable, classic and chic for my travel outfit so I could arrive fresh and chic, but be comfortable and warm for the flight. I chose a tailored french blue button down shirt by Finley, black trousers by 1937, tortoise shell sunglasses by PRADA, a Teddie Tote by GiGi New York, and black and tan espadrilles. In flight I slipped on Cashmere Blend Crew Socks by Brooks Brothers and used Ursa Major face wipes. Voila, I arrived happy, fresh and stylish.
